For the first time ever, scientists have discovered, as it says, a lot of oxygen which was surround the nucleus of the comet. Which could change theories about how the solar system was formed, and although oxygen has been found on Saturn and Jupiter, it’s never been found on a comet until now.
“It is the most surprising discovery we have made so far… oxygen was not among the molecules suspected in a cometary comas,” Kathrin Altwegg, one of the co-authors on the paper from the University of Bern, told reporters at a press conference last Tuesday.
If what they have found is legitimate, then this could change history as we know it, therefore, yes, this does affect me. It also affects the world.
